Films noir, crime novels, chiaroscuro paintings, highlighting contrasts between light and dark have inspired my nocturnal wanderings in sleepy towns. I am drawn to half-shadowed night scenes that yield a tense, worrying, and almost hazardous atmosphere imbued with a mystical aura that propagates fear.
Personally, it’s about that place of desolation where man fades into the background and time stands still.
The question is not regarding what happened, but rather what is going to happen. This Hitchcockian, Lynchian, and Hopperian aesthetic is what ultimately fascinates me and unconsciously inspires my work.
